In a sleepy border town, a young woman must face the uncertainty of love, the power ofmysticism... and the secret a dress holds to her family’s past.

synopsis

Elsa only saw her mother happy when she was singing. She and her fraternal twin, Braxton would sneak into the rafters of The Little Onne Theatre to watch Adina weave angelic tales in English and Spanish. But each night they returned to the home of Adina’s sister, the mystical Aunt Leslie. The twins lived a life of luxury there, far away from their parents’ new home at St. Mary’s Mission... Adina in the sanatorium, their father Samuel, in the rectory.

Now an adult, Elsa sings on the same stage. But the theatre is beautiful no more. As tattered as the town she promised her mother she’d escape them from. Each night there, Elsa sings, saves her money, welcomes the love of the shy yet persistent Waiter... and endures the ever-lustful club owner, Graça. She sings in the costume her mother wore: a pink and red dress made of satin, covered in flowers, mostly roses. Until she can be closer to the woman who barely speaks now... until she can set them both free.
